I have heard an interpretation of ezer which uses insights from ancient Hebrew pictograms.

Do you think the pictograms give insight into the meaning of the Hebrew?

(I did notice that the link urges caution in looking at deeper meaning via the pictograms)

My opinion is in agreement with the warning text on the page:
quote:

While this technique may occasionally offer some interesting insights, it is to be avoided as an exegetical principle since it can lead to speculations and doubtful interpretations. For honest interpretation, the rule of thumb is to first master the p’shat (plain historical meaning) before moving on to other “levels” of the Scriptures.
That said, it is useful to understand that comparing numerical values of the words was a common rabbinical technique to tie disparate passages together, and is even used in the text of the NT; like the 666 value of the antichrist.

There is plenty in the p'shat to keep us busy thruought this lifetime.

That statement is also something I strongly agree with.

Some notes on the "pictograms" in the article to which you linked:

While it is generally accepted that the Hebrew alphabet did originate with "pictograms", we have no example from archeology where the "pictures" are as well defined as they are in the examples on this sites page, and the extended meanings given to the letters of the alphabet are highly speculative and without any foundation in archeological evidence. The reality is that archeologists simply do not know the original meaning of every picture, and the meanings they do understand are much more simplistic than the ones given on this site. Here is a site that treats the origins of the alphabet a little better.
