I have a Hoover that is falling apart and is heavy and awkard for me to handle. Any recommendations on what kind of lightweight sweeper I can get. I have carpeting and wood floors. Orecks are too expensive.
Thank you for any ideas.

Walmart? They have about the least expensive ones around, and you can pull them off the shelf to try out.

Consumer Reports has consistently rated Kenmore's as good values for the money. I have two and have thought they performed well. You can get one for about $200.
