I am thinking of getting each of my kids a magazine subscription to a magazine for Christmas: 2 also have winter birthdays. Any good suggestions. Even non-CHristian magazines that are "Christian friendly"
By their birthdays this winter, my kids are ds 8, DD 10, DD13. I remember reading Campus Life as a kid...any other ideas.

I remember reading Ranger Rick around the age of 8. I believe it was Christian friendly, but it's been a very long time.

I got DS Ranger Rick 2 years ago (it ended a year ago) and he did enjoy that.

We loved Ranger Rick as kids. How about National Geographic World (I think that's the one geared towards slightly younger kiddos).
Can you take them to the library to peruse magazines and note which ones they're interested in?

I concur. My mom asked about getting the kids subcriptions for Christmas last year and dd(14) really enjoyed it. Ds didn't care for the boys one. We're renewing it.

Ignite (formerly Campus Life) Magazine for high school and college age. Odyssey Magazine for kids 10-15 years old.
My children enjoy Clubhouse Jr. and Ranger Rick - highly recommend.

I would reccomend Highlights for Kids. Highlights also has great mystery / whodunnit clubs that you can enroll in for a monthly fee. Which Way USA is a slub for young detectives focusing on the USA. Children get a packet of info about one state and have to figure out what was stolen, by whom and where it's at by solving all sorts of fun puzzles. Top Secret Adventures is similar except that it is about countries and children get more stuff including a jigsaw puzzle and a guidebook as well as a map.
Also, the The upper Room publishing company of the United Methodist Church pust out devotionals for various age groups. My mom will be getting these for my kids for Christmas this year.

I haven't read them cover to cover for several years so I'm not 100% certain of content or quality. Check out the web pages and maybe request a free sample to look at. A local UMC might have back issues to hand out and look at also.
