What is your favorite diet soda? I prefer Coke Zero (if you consider it diet.) I've heard that diet soda is worse for you than regular soda. Has anyone else heard that?

Neither one is good for you if you drink large amounts. I don't like diet soda at all. When I did drink I only liked diet mountain dew.

My favorite is Diet Pepsi Max or Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi :) It's my caffeine for the day, as opposed to coffee or something like that, though I know it's not all that good for you either. Sometimes I "need" some kind of pop/soda with what I'm eating though!

I buy the store brands. Favorite is Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. I also like Dr. Pepper and Cherry cola. And I probably drink way too much...

I like Diet A &W Rootbeer. The only other Diet Soda I can stand is Diet Dr. Pepper, but I try to only drink about 1 20oz a week if that.

My favorite is diet pepsi or diet coke..but I am happy to announce that I have been drinking SOOOO much less of it with Gods help. I drank so much that I started to gain weight even though it was DIET. Now God is slowly but surely taking me away from it. I had the worst cravings from it. Its super hard to stop for some people and for this I thank the Lord Jesus for helping me =)

It's a huge problem for me - Diet Coke. I can drink the caffeine free just fine so I know it's not the caffeine I need - there's something else there that's absolutely addicting. I've gone off of it several times only to get sucked back in. It's so bad I can sympathize with smokers or drug addicts - I can go a month or two without it and be in a meeting or out somewhere and hear someone pop open a can and it'll be all I can think about the rest of the day till I get my hands on one! It's so sad. I need to cut back again. I drink a gallon+ water/day. I increased to that hoping it would help me cut down but I can still do 3-4 cans/day. I'm really planning to get serious again on my diet - plan to every day, and cutting out these cokes will be a big part of it. I want to start now but there are two cases in my fridge! HELP!!

csl7037... I TOTALLY can relate to you on this one! I know the cravings, I have tried and tried and tried so many times before to stop. I once did some research on diet coke and stumbled upon a forum that had a thread like this one just devoted to those trying to stop drinking soda. You do go through withdrawl symptoms very much similar to those of drugs. Its really true. I remember how it all started too. It was years ago and I was feeling down and needed a pick me up...so I started drinking coke thinking it would help me. I switched to diet coke becasue I didnt want all the calories, but now I know its just as bad as regular coke if not worse. Since then its been my coffee and I like you I could consume 3-4 cans a day. We are very similar in this. You are right there IS something in it that makes you want more of it. My sister cant stop drinking it either. Its a problem among many people. I prayed and prayed so long and hard for this. I called in this one ministry EVERYDAY to give me strength to stop drinking it. These people would be on the phone with me and would pray EACH MORNING as I started the day just so I could stop. I finally got serious about it. and so far its working. I hope I dont relapse...haha. I will be praying for you and for strength to say no. Stay strong and dump that stuff out!!!

I gave up soda several months ago. When I have a craving for fizz I purchase sparkling water - San Pellegrino or Perrier and flavored syrups that you can find at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. I prefer the DaVinci brand and usually opt for the sugar free ones for caloric purposes. Otherwise I simply have water with a squeeze of lemon and a flavor packet. The Wyler's brand is most reasonable and available at Walgreens along with Snapple both sugar free for $1-2 dollars depending on your market.

Hello all, I used to love Diet Pepsi but through my wife's urging I gave it up. Diet soda that that has no calories but it has chemicals which can not be good for you.

I rarely drink soda. Every now and then I will have a Hansen's diet ginger ale. Maybe about once every couple of months I will have a non diet Dr. Pepper or root beer. If I am craving a carbonated beverage, I will just grab a beer.

I am a diet code red mt. dew addict. I know that artificial sweeteners are not good for you, but neither is almost anything you eat or drink if you buy it off of a regular grocery store shelf. Everything has hormones or antibiotics in it. If you want to be as healthy as you can be in your eating and drinking, you pretty much have to live at a really good health food store. I am not planning on giving up my soda anytime soon, but I have read the studies on aspertame and sugar is just as bad for you so either way, neither are good for you in large amounts. But breathing polluted outside air isn't good for you either.

I've heard that diet soda is worse for you than regular soda. Has anyone else heard that? Yes, neither soda (regular or diet) is good for a person in large amounts. Drinking one once in a while isn't going to kill you, but I know too many people who drink several cans per day. Those artificial chemicals are not good for the body. Once in a great while, I'll drink a diet Pepsi. Yep, what she said (except for drinking a diet Pepsi once in a great while ). It's not just the sugar and the artificial sweeteners either. The high levels of phosphorous causes your body to leach calcium from your bones. Wonder why osteoporosis has seemingly become epidemic in this generation??????

I heard, also about how the phosphoric acid depleats the calcium in the bones and that is in both diet and regular. I used to drink only diet until I started getting terrible headaches from it. I call them my ice pick headaches because it feels like an ice pick being jabbed into my brain. Ouch! I have cut my pop consumption down a lot but I still go through times where I crave a coke or dr. pepper. But I try to make sure if I'm going to have a pop that I've at least had enough water for the day. Sometimes if I get the water down first it will get rid of the crave for a pop....but on occasion I still want the pop so I go for it.
