Here's Mark 4:26-29 (parable of farmer, seed and harvesting) (NLT):

Jesus also said,“The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come.”

Note the underlined verse. Does this imply that God doesn't know how believers come to him, or am I reading WAY too much into this? I thought God was omniscient, or all-knowing.

I'll thank you in advance for any answers to this. God Bless!

The farmer is the believer and he scatters the seed by speaking the word (seed) and it yields fruit but the farmer does'nt know why. Check out Mark 11.23-27.

Oh, OK, the farmer is the BELIEVER and not being compared to God in this parable! My mistake! That makes complete sense now!

That's what I love about the Bible, I've been reading and studying it for 4 years now, and I always catch something that I missed before. Mark 4:26-29 really stood out to me on this particular reading.

Thanks for the insight!

He is all knowing, and yes sweetie you reading too much into it, be careful how you interpret things, my advice get an amplified book or translated. The amplified has the original scripture king james version and a translated side as well. God bless you

Read this passage again, carefully. vs 26 says, "The Kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night
and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. Mark is teaching the supernatural character of God's kingdom. Man is responsible for sowing the kingdom message, but only God can produce effects. In the final analysis, it is totaly God's deed. That is the law of sowing and reaping. We are the ones to sow the word of
God in a lost and dying world. Then we pray and ask Him to give the increase. As the apostle Paul says in 1Corinthians 3:6, that one sows, another waters, but it is God who brings the increase.

Yes, a king is the embodiment of a kingdom, but the king is not actually a kingdom. A kingdom is the sum total of all that dwell there. Therefore, The Kindom of Heaven represents all those who serve Adonai. Those who serve do not always know the plans of The King, they just do their best to serve Him.

Well said, Bluethread. We should always stand ready to serve the King. The King rules His kingdom with authority, and wisdom. He provides for and protects the subjects of His kingdom.
