I'm not sure, I've never tried to recover from a flash drive before. I know floppies with corrupted file systems can be recovered, and hard drives as well, assuming they are still functioning enough to be read from. However, that's because recovery programs can tell the drives to just read the raw data without trying to act like a file system. I think it's likely a recovery program could do the same with a flash drive, but only if the flash drive is smart enough (or dumb enough) to allow just a raw dump of bits. Sadly, I don't know what recovery programs are best, and I'm still eagerly awaiting to hear about a free one.
