I just got an error message that the master Partition table is physically damaged on a 2 gig flash drive. Is there anyway to recover the data?

I'm not sure, I've never tried to recover from a flash drive before. I know floppies with corrupted file systems can be recovered, and hard drives as well, assuming they are still functioning enough to be read from. However, that's because recovery programs can tell the drives to just read the raw data without trying to act like a file system. I think it's likely a recovery program could do the same with a flash drive, but only if the flash drive is smart enough (or dumb enough) to allow just a raw dump of bits.

Sadly, I don't know what recovery programs are best, and I'm still eagerly awaiting to hear about a free one.

I have done some research trying to find a program. I did download an evaluation copy of one that would scan the flash drive. I ran the scan and it found files on the flash drive. However I have to buy it for $40 to recover the files. I may have to do that.
