So, is it normal to sometimes skip a period? No pregnancy or anything, just a skipped period?

Have you had a lot of stress?

Almost everyone I know missed a period due to stress, except me, who always got a double dose in stressful times.

If you are always regular and had no stress, diet changes, or increase in exercise, you might call the doctor and ask about it.

(You just got married, didn't you? That might have something to do with it.)

Yeah, I did just get married a couple of months ago. And I'm VERY stressed about work.

But, I can't recall a time I missed a period all together. Granted, I'm probably early in my worry. My body has felt like I could get my period at any moment for the past week. But, no Aunt Flo.

Have you taken a pregnancy test to rule that out?

I personally have never skipped an entire period, but I have been a few days later than normal due to stress.

if you have never missed before, then no... it's not normal.

There are some people who miss "regularly" and for them that is "normal".

Things can mess with your cycle, but if you haven't taken a pregnancy test yet, and you are more than a week late, and feeling crampy... I'd take a test.

I've yet to skip one unless I was pregnant. Um, I tested later then most when I was pregnant because I felt like AF was imminent.

Have you ever just skipped one before?

Do you know you have ovulated? You might just have ovulated later than normal, or not at all. I had a time period (about 6 years) where I never got a period. Sure wasn't pregnant!

I guess the two things I think of are: Late/non-ovulating cycle or pregnancy. If you have ovulated, you will start to bleed at some point if there is no implantation.

I've skipped altogehter.

Usually it was due to illness during the month, high stress or not being able to eat (had a virus/bug, etc).

Never missed, but I have been really late. Walking around with PMS symptoms for 1-2 days is not bad. Doing it for 2 weeks sucks!

Sorry about this. God just likes to mess with us some times.

Sharon. Buy a test. You are fairly young, newly married, and "leaving it in God's hands". It's not unlikely that something will eventually result from that.

I really just think that my body is dealing with stress and trying to recover from all the wedding planning/wedding/honeymoon/change in sexual activity....that kind of thing.

I took a pregnancy test yesterday, and it was negative. My body keeps going from feeling like Aunt Flo is going to arrive at any time to feeling "normal" like after my period is over. I looked at the calendar more closely today, and I think I miscalulated by a week (stupid work stress). I am still late, buy only by a few days, not a week and few days like I had thought.

I have no idea if I ovulated or not. I used to know exactly when I ovulated. But, since getting married and being active, I can't read my body as well. I don't temp or anything like that, just track the number of days for my cycle.

Sooooo....I guess I am premature in thinking I may skip a period all together. I have a docs appt on Thursday for my annual exam and physical. I'm getting established FINALLY with a new doctor. So....I sort of hope now that if Aunt Flo does come, she waits until after Thursday.

I completely missed one once. Took a test, it was negative, went to the doctor to ask about it and his explanation was "it can happen." He said if I missed another to come back. But right on time the next month it came.

The appointment was pretty standard. Urine test was negative. I have to go on Saturday morning after fasting for 12 hours to get blood drawn for normal testing. But if I have not gotten my period by then, they will also do a blood pregnancy test. Honestly, I just think my period is readjusting back to my normal 32ish day cycle.

So you'll know more one way or the other today....either the blood test will show something or AF will be rearing her ugly head. That's usually the way it works.

God bless
