I know this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone have experience with creating hard plaques out of pressed layers upon layers of paper?

I remember making this kind of creation in high school. That was a long time ago and I can't remember the process.

Like, what kind of adhesive to use? Is special paper required or is construction grade okay? How many layers to do at one time so that it will dry?

I think we cut the finished product with a band saw into round coaster and then shel-acked the surface.

Does anyone know where to point to for such a craft?

Even good craft How-To sites would be helpful.

Hmm... I just tried doing a Google search, and I didn't come up with much yet. I suggest to keep digging.

Sites like Michaels.com and JoAnn.com often offer free project instructions with photos. You might try there.

I haven't checked to see if Hobby Lobby has an online presence. That's another source to try.

Well thanks, Elena. I'm not sure someone's ever Googled on my behalf .

I did Google it myself and had no better luck than when I started. I may just go it by memory and common sense and see if that works.
