Was Abraham Lincoln a Christian? I'm just curious because in his Thanksgiving Proclamation he talked about giving thanks and praise to our Father and the blessings and gifts that we have received from God.

Was Abraham Lincoln a Baptist?
In truth, Lincoln is rarely thought of as a Baptist. But his father was a member of Regular Baptist churches in Kentucky and Indiana. Fairly early in Lincoln's life he developed many distinctly personal beliefs. Lincoln read the Bible regularly and was committed to God and morality throughout his life. Some historians call him a Deist. Most of his beliefs as a young man and as an adult could not be characterized as Baptist. Mark A. I am by far 'not' a historian, but to my understanding He was a Christian. He actually suffered from depression and read the psalms often.
