So what's that mean?

I mean really?

Here is as best as I understand:

Well, when Matt was 16 or 17 he did the old Microsoft Certifcation.

Since then Microsoft has updated the program and so Matt's old certification is outdated and not really useful anymore.

His work has to have a certain number of Microsoft Certified people to keep their status as a Microsoft Certified Partner. So Matt's work promised him a raise at the beginning of next year if he finished his certification this year.

And if he needs to find another tech job it is a good thing to have.

But basically it means he knows enough about Microsoft's server / administration system that he can pass three tests about it. :)

Thanks for the congrats to Matt. He is glad to be done with the studying and tests.

Only four weeks left of my psychology class! A couple days ago my grade was up to 78%, but then I did poorly on the quiz and that put me down to 76%. I didn't turn in today's paper because I wasn't in the mood to make up something about this week's topics, so that will probably drop me down another 2%. Owell. Last week's chapter was about Adolescent Development and I guess I don't connect well with that since my adolescent years were far from normal.

You know, I am starting to get the feeling that the appraiser I work with doesn't really want me to do the internship. She just seems so "whatever" about it. This is getting semi-depressing.

Way to go Matt!

Ugh, I am so tired today. It has been over a year since I have had to get up before 9 every day. Whenever I do get up now before 10:30 AM I just drag all day.

Went out with the appraiser on two inspections. We went to a tenant occupied townhouse and I did a couple measurements in there. Then we did an exterior only inspection of a house. Was semi-interesting I guess.

After the inspections were done it was 11:10 AM. I was like, "Normally I would have only been up 10-30 minutes." I tried to find something for lunch, but nothing sounded good since it was too late for breakfast at most places. It was also disappointing to be out of coffee. Matt brought me some chicken catsu at noon and that was pretty good.

Now I have 7 hours of call center working. Normally I only work 5 hours on Tuesday, but I signed up for extra hours today. Ugh.

So here is something interesting...

I ordered my Amry sister shirt and sweatshirt, and I got those like a week or two ago. The color was way too dark, so I asked the company if I could send it back and they said yes. I put the things I didn't like in the mail on Monday afternoon, and Monday night I reordered stuff in colors I knew would turn out good. Wednesday my first order came to me a second time. Huh.

I emailed the company and asked them what I should do with it. There reply was "That is for you to do as you will." Does that mean they don't care of I keep it? I am certainly not wasting $8-$10 of my money to send it back, and I told them I wanted a prepaid shipping label if they wanted me to send it back.

Matt said I should keep it and bring it on the trip and it give it to the sister of one of Douglas' friends. That is an interesting idea.

A year ago I ordered a shirt for my friend. I ordered the wrong size. Totally my fault. So I emailed them and asked about the exchange policy. They said that they would replace it for free and I could keep the original. HUH!?!?!?!? It was my fault. The price of the shirt turned out to be negligible to them when they considered restocking and such.

I bet that's what this company is thinking for you Catherine.

Yah, that is what I am thinking too. And since it has custom stuff on it it is probably a pain for them to get the stuff off it.

Got a letter today from my Grandma Dorothy, who is my mom's mom. She was a part of having the wrong address for Douglas so she wanted to ask me about the address. She also said that my mom, her newish husband, and their three kids are planning to visit her for Thanksgiving. Wow. I am VERY surprised to hear that. My Grandma Dorothy has NEVER seen her two youngest grandkids in person, and the third one she hasn't seen since he was less than a year old (same with me... I have never met my youngest two half-siblings). Just thought that was interesting.

Tonight we are going out for a belated celebration of Matt's birthday with his parents. We were supposed to go last week but then they were sick. We are going to a yummy BBQ place. I am going to have ribs. I am so happy that I got Matt's family to break their tradition of going out for Asian food for his birthday ( ). My liking of Asian food is limited.

Wow. THE. MOST. ANNOYING. DINNER. EVER. Matt's sister came, and she brought her two kids who are almost 3 and 1.5. Matt's mom talked in a high-pitched voice to the three year old THE ENTIRE TIME. The only time she was quiet was when she was shoveling food in her mouth. Oh my. Never in my life have I been so glad to be childless. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The food was only OK. It was definitely better last time Matt and I went.

After dinner we went to Mervys. Now they are up to 70-80% off. I want to buy some new jeans, but I didn't find any I truly liked. Matt was quite annoyed that I spent almost an hour there and didn't buy anything. I wanted to buy some shoes, but I have enough (I guess). I never knew that Mudd made such cute shoes. Maybe the ones I like will still be there when it is 80-90% off.

You're optimistic that they'll have a 80-90% sale!

I'm sorry to hear the dinner wasn't so good, but I'm quite impressed that you're doing more things with Matt's parents.

I believe they'll go 80-90% by Christmas. I think part of their timing of closing is to get the Christmas shoppers. JCPenney and Kohl's do 80% off for their season end clearances.

Matt's sister has 2 kids now? Gosh I can't believe it's been that long. It was the oldest at your wedding who was a baby, right???

Me too. There is some stuff in there that says "Final Reduction" like the jeans they had that were $4, but most the stuff does not say final reduction.

Yes, the oldest was a baby at our wedding. Her second was born in late May 2007. Then she had her tubes ties, so no more for her.

Here is my weekend thus far...

Saturday:

I needed to get Princess a new boardatella shot since she is going to boarding next weekend for when we go to see my brother. The low shot clinic that we always go to decided to add a place in Fernley to its rotation, and this week just happened to be the Fernley week. I was surprised to find out that Matt didn't know how to get to Fernley off the top of his head. He said, "When do I ever go to Fernley? What need do I have to go to Fernley?" Well, he has a point there. Fernley is like 40 miles from Reno. Some people who work in Reno live in Fernley since the houses are cheaper there. Fernley itself is not too exciting. So we went to Fernley and got Princess her vaccination.

Then we went up to this park like place on Mount Rose. Mount Rose is between Reno and part of Lake Tahoe. On this one part they have a place where you can go and hike/walk around and there is a pond and a creek and lots and lots of trees. It is kind of nice. We went and found a rock to carve for Ami's burial site. We were going to order a fancy one, but then we decided to save money because Matt thinks he can carve one himself. Princess enjoyed walking around, I think. At first I think she was wondering why we weren't at an off-leash dog park, which is where we usually take her for some exercise.

Then we went and ate dinner at one of the casinos. We ordered a bunch of fried food and I was actually impressed at how well it was made. I was expecting lower quality.

Sunday:

Matt invited his friend over to play whatever violent video game they are playing now. I did some cleaning, but Matt did most of it. Cleaning is blah. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a bigger hour, but then again, having a house this size doesn't take too terribly long to clean. Plus we don't really need more house for two people and one dog.

When Matt's friends come over it usually makes me want to show off my cooking skills. So right now in one crock pot I have chicken cooking in BBQ sauce and some foil-wrapped vegetables. In the other crock pot I have Mashed Potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese. I am also making some pumpkin cookies. I didn't follow the pumpkin cookie recipe exactly though. I didn't have any pumpkin seeds (does anyone keep those on hand?) and I have no idea what dried currants are. So instead I added sliced almonds and semi-sweet chocolate chips. They are yummy!

What am I supposed to be doing today? Writing a research paper for my psychology class. At least it only has to be 3-5 pages. Here are the grading criteria for the paper:
1. 50 points = Depth of research/information presented
2. 40 points = Organization/readability
3. 100 points = APA formatting of title page, citations in text, and reference page
4. 10 points = Mechanics (spelling/punctuation)

Seriously? Half the points just for being able to follow APA formatting correctly? Is it really that big of a deal for a class that isn't for English credits??

OK. This is ridiculous. How old are my co-workers????

I just walked into the lunchroom to get my mid-morning snack. I opened up my lunchbag and it felt a little light. When I looked inside all I saw were my 2 snacks and my leftover fixings from breakfast. My lunch was GONE!!!!

WHAT!?!?!? OK. I must've left it at my desk. Nope. Not there. Looked thoroughly. OK. Did I leave it on the counter this morning? Maybe. Went back to the lunchroom and looked on the counter and in the cupboards and on the racks and in the trash and all throughout the fridge. My lunch was nowhere to be found.

OK. If I left it out. My bad. Please put it away for me. But I am 99.99999% sure I put it away with the rest of my food for the day (I double checked the counter after making my breakfast to ensure I cleaned up my mess).

Which leads me to believe that someone took my pizza out of my lunchbag in the fridge and ate it.

I'm astonished. I know it's only leftover homemade pizza, but it was MY LUNCH!!! And now I have to go get something to eat today. I don't exactly have leftover money to be supplying 2 lunches a day.

I now remember why I usually leave my lunchbag at my desk.

Christine ~ I feel your pain. I am amazed at how many things of mine I have had stolen out of the call center fridge. Last week I brought in some leftover hamburger helper, and someone took that. :O So now not only was I out my food, I am now also out a tupperware dish.

Yes! So very, very good. Matt said, "I don't know what you did to the potatoes, but they were awesome!"

The pumpkin cookies also turned out fabulous.

This is the third thing I've had stolen in less than a year.

When I write my name on my food it doesn't disappear. So people have this mentality that if there's no name it's free game???? Seriously????

Didn't you post a pumpkin cookie recipe last year???

I made pumpkin scones on Saturday for breakfast. They were scrumptious.

At least you didn't have 2 hairbrushes taken from the medicine cabinet after your father-in-law died! Mary and I lost her Dad last weekend (11/8/08), and a number of the family were in and out for the last week. I noticed that a small brush was missing first, then it was the large one that disappeared the other day. Personally, I hope that it was Mary's sister just taking the large one by mistake (she's a real scatterbrain!). But if it was her brother's wife (I refuse to call her my s-i-l!!!), then I hope she comes down with lice!!
