This is the third thing I've had stolen in less than a year.

When I write my name on my food it doesn't disappear. So people have this mentality that if there's no name it's free game???? Seriously????

Didn't you post a pumpkin cookie recipe last year???

I made pumpkin scones on Saturday for breakfast. They were scrumptious.

At my work even writing your name doesn't work. One time I left an unopened bottled Starbucks drink and wrote my name on it in several different places. That was stolen too. I am just amazed that people have low enough ethics to do it. Do you think one day, "I am hungry... lets go see what is in the breakroom fridge to eat."

I don't remember if I posted a pumpkin cookie recipe last year or not.

Well, we had a busy day at the appraisal office - seven orders! Wow! Friday I did my first official appraisal, and I spent much of today editing it. I had Matt take it to the post office for me so I could have time to get lunch before job #2.

Tomorrow I am going out to do appraisals in Fernley and Fallon. Fallon is even farther past Fernley, and there is a military base out there. The boss said if I want to go tomorrow that I have to drive. Well, hopefully I will be awake enough for that. My goal was to go to sleep at 2 AM, and now it is closer to 3 AM and I am awake enough to stay up for quite a while more.

Only six days til we leave for the midwest! Woohoo!

How neat that you did your first official appraisal!!

It's hard to believe there are only 6 days left! Probably doesn't seem like it to Douglas, but it seems to me to have gone kinda fast.
I hope everything goes smoothly about getting there,

Wow, it is so warm here for being mid-November. The high today was 72*. I didn't know it was supposed to be this warm and I wore a long-sleeved turtle neck today. I think today was a fluke though, because Thursday and beyond is only supposed to be in the 50's.

Went and did one inspection in Fernley and two in Fallon. The drive there seemed sooooooo much faster than the drive back. And now I am quite tired. I believe in "with experience comes understanding." I never understood why the bosses complained about going far away and now I do. Measured 1.5 houses with my tape measure. It is getting easier since I am getting the hang of how to make it stay where I put it. The first time I tried to measure a house (my bosses') was a miserable experience because no one showed me how.

I wish I had something to wake me up. I still think this call center needs an in-house Starbucks

I just found out that Starbucks had pumpkin cream cheese muffins, which sounds SO good.

My absolute favorite Starbucks treat is the Cranberry Bliss Bar.

I want to make pumpkin brownies. I am trying to figure out if I can just take a box of brownie mix and add pumpkin puree instead of the wet ingredients. The web is not being much help. I think I will just try it and see what happens.

You'll still need the eggs.

It'll probably turn out to be more of a cake, than a brownie. I would suggest reducing the cocoa and vanilla, and adding the pumpkin spices.

They taste fine, but not the brownie texture. They are quite heavy.

Yah, I don't think it went so fast for him. He and all his buddies were/are counting down the days til graduation.

You know the one thing I am worried about? Being able to pick Douglas out of a crowd. His commander sends out pictures every week, and if Douglas has been in any of the pictures, than I haven't noticed. Everyone looks the same with their green uniforms and 1 mm hair.

Douglas called today. He talked to me for only a few minutes than said, "Is Matt there?" "No. I am at work right now." "Well, where is Matt?" "At his work." "Oh really? Do you think if I call he will answer?" "Maybe." Does he still not understand that before 7 PM there is working time for us? He asked Matt to bring him a bunch of technology stuff, including a $400 touch ipod he said he will pay us back for. Why can't he buy one himself while he is out on pass? I think I'd rather not buy something that expensive and then wait for the money back.

Today I got back my approval for time off for next week. The scheduling lady said "Be careful what you say. We only granted time off to one other person next week who also has a unique circumstance." Yah, I didn't plan to brag, and I don't share with many people there anyway. The main two people I share with figured they would give me the time off. I wasn't so sure. Tomorrow is the last day of my work week and I was worried I was going to have to ask them what the status was and say, "Well, I am still not coming in next week whether you like it or not." I am glad I didn't have to.

The bad news is that the call center is thinking about being open on Christmas. :( Today they were going around asking who would want to work if they were open on Christmas. Uhm, not me. Some people said yes. I sure hope they stay closed. I want to go to Vegas for a few days, not take sales calls on a holiday. I worked 10 hours last Thanksgiving and hated almost every minute of it... I don't want to work on any other big meal holidays.

Did the call center even get very many calls on Thanksgiving? I can't imagine anyone sitting around on Christmas day and deciding to watch the shopping channels or something.

We had more calls last Thanksgiving than we did on many days this summer.

Yes, but their Cmas memo said "Many people will be spending time with their families flipping through the channels." And then something like "Many people will be itching to go shopping the next day, but we can allow them to get a jump start on that."

Last Christmas the call center was closed and they spent all day running documentaries about various gemstones that we sell. People actually watched them because the next day we had people calling saying, "Yesterday I watched your documentary about ______, are you going to be selling any if that today?" Really? There was not ANYTHING better on?

Uh, I don't watch football. When we go to Vegas for Christmas I turn the channel every time the men leave the room.

I had to chuckle at the contrast between your post and your siggie. {{{{{{{{{Duane}}}}}}}} Death is a hard thing and so much ugliness in people show up at that time. It's sad.

Catherine, I wouldn't want to work on a holiday either.

Maggie, I want to thank you for the gentle, but pointed, reminder of my sig line. I guess that I've got a lot to work on. It's just very hard to trust her after what she's done in the past, and I suppose it will be that way until she admits to what she did and asks for our forgiveness. I do want the best for her, and that best would be that she and my brother-in-law would get saved. Finding out for certain that Mary's Dad had accepted Jesus as his Savior was such a load off our minds and hearts; getting that same news about Jay and Debbie would be, as well.

I cannot believe how far behind I am at the appraisal place. I guess it part of it must be because I spent all but 30 minutes of Tuesday out of the office, plus we got more orders this week than we have in a while. Since we are going to be gone all next week, I am going in tomorrow (Saturday) to catch up.

Today Matt stood in line early and bought a BlackBerry Storm. Hurray. He is selling his Wii to get money for that, but the people who said they would buy it haven't contacted him in a few days.

Today we got a email that said that Fannie Mae is not going to do any foreclosures between Thanksgiving and New Years. That is nice for the people who are about to be evicted, but bad for us as appraisers. That means December is probably going to be pretty slow. :( :( :(

Monday we leave to see my brother! Today I got my eyebrows waxed and tomorrow I am getting my hair cut so I will look nice for the trip. My hair was so cool in the summer and then the dude who cut it in September messed it up, so hopefully it will be cool again tomorrow.

That's very nice of Fannie Mae. At least they've got a bit of a heart. Appraisers can wait.
