Also...how often do you nurse him? Do you nurse him on a schedule or on demand? I am asking just because some babies need to eat more often..especially premies.
How many wet diapers does he have in a day when he only gets you and no bottle?

childcare workers will not have any problem whatsoever with you providing breastmilk for your baby. The only concern they will have is if she has enough to eat for the day. =)

Hey Erin, don't you go to a Pumping Working Moms yahoo group or something like that? Maybe you could post the link for Bee?
Bee if you can, try to pump right before starting work (like in your car or a private room), again on a morning break, lunch break, and afternoon break. If you can, that ought to really keep your supply up. And, also nursing Ava in the evenings and weekends. If your supply is really good now, maybe try to get a head start on pumping.
Well, ladies....I think Jimmy might be weaned. I haven't nursed him since naptime yesterday. I'm a little sad. He is prolly our last baby. I dunno, I might nurse him at naptime tomorrow. I like nursing, but I like the freedom too.

Bee, if you want to continue breastfeeding you should not give Ava formula unless absolutely neccessary. Your body will start making less milk since it thinks its not needed. I was most definitely pump at work. I'm currently back and work and I dont pump the days I work from 8-12, I pump right before I leave home and then feed Isaac as soon as I get home. I live 5 minutes from my house. But since you have such a drive, I'd at least pump in the car before and after work. A good book that I found on pumping and working is "Nursing Mother Working Mother" it is an excellent resource on schedules, getting started, etc. I dont have a Yahoo group or anything I am apart of but the American Pregnancy Association has some excellent forums and resources (I know we arent supposed to recommend other forums but I hope that since this is a very specialized forum its okay). Also, workandpump.com, is a good resource. You CAN do this. You CAN work and continue to breastfeed Ava, it may not be easy, but it can be done.

Will it be enough to pump right before I go into work, and then right after? I know I probably would be getting a hour lunch during the day, but I am not for certian, I will know when I actually start.

That's right, thanks Kat. I knew one of you ladies went to that Yahoo group.
Bee, anything you can pump is great. I had a bad schedule at work, but I was still able to pump and nurse for 7 months, supplementing with formula from about 4 months. You can always do that too. Just leave the can of formula with the daycare, and if they run out of your breastmilk, they can give her that. Not being able to take breaks and lunch will probably make it hard to keep your supply up. But, just pump what you can for as long as you can, and you have formula to fall back on.

I'd say when you work all day it might be a bit too long to just pump before and after, I was actually referring to the 1/2 days (didnt you say you were doing half days for a bit?). But I would say whatever you can do would be better than nothing. When I work all day I pump before work, and at an early lunch, then mid afternoon. That gets me three pumpings in in a work day with only taking one unscheduled break. (Small office, no actual "breaks"). Since you have the drive you do I'd also pump before I left maybe? I only drive 5 minutes and Isaac eats as soon as I get home usually. Do you have a good pump?

Speaking of bras, I have a ton of nursing bras that don't fit, won't ever fit and I want to get rid of them. They are in super good condition, some are practically new. I have two bravado's one is a L++ and the other is a L+. I have some 38DD's, 36DD's and one 36F. If anyone can use them all I ask is for the cost of shipping them out. They are clean and washed (actually they are hang drying right now). The one Bravado has some lanolin staining in the front, but it is clean. I've washed them all in the washer on the hand wash cycle. Just PM me.

Sideways - I am usually happy to be done nursing too. But that's probably for 2 reasons - I decided when we were done with our 1st 3 babies, not them. And 2nd - this is my last baby, so I will be a bit sad to be done as I know it's the last time I'll ever nurse.
So far he's been doing better. He's not thrilled about it, but he's not totally rejecting it either. I am worried that once I start weaning he'll be totally done instantly and won't wean gradually.

Erin- I will be working half days for the first week, but after that it's back to normal 40+ hours a week, I will try and pump on all my breaks.
Tammy- I am sorry that he is trying to ween himself, I hope he does not continue to want a bottle
