This video makes me want beef jerky (messin' with Sasquatch - have you seen that commercial?)

This isn't very Christlike, but part of me wants to subscribe to this thread to see how many people get really really mangled and out of sorts arguing over the morality of Bigfoot or something. We get in such a twist over such...interesting things sometimes. Yes, yes, I shall go repent now, after I have a beer, change into pants, and get a tattoo - tee hee. Man! Now I have to repent again!!

I just like the idea of a big hairy wildman. Especially one that sneaks around in the woods and doesn't seem to be a real threat as much as just being scary because we don't know. Always a good fireside story. So I'll keep this alive whenever I see it die down.

Hey cow,

How about being painted like this? Or this?

Marcus if you haven't yet read Frank Peretti's "Monster". You'd really like it.

Why not a bigfoot?

Every few years there is a new tribe of people found who were previously unknown (South America, Borneo, etc.).

People are so arrogant to think that we know everything about everything on planet earth, when in reality we have not eves scratched the surface.

There are many unexplored and/or remote places on earth even here in North America; forest, swamps, etc. If you have every been in the swamps of South Louisiana or the Everglades in Florida, then you are aware that there could well be any variety of wooly boolies running around there.

And BTW, I saw someone (something) a number of years past in a biker bar in Arkansas that looked just like the subject of the film in the OP.

Thanks
RC

Not to mention those heavy metal bands in the 80's.

One doesn't have to be hairy to be scary.

I used to know a man that wore a size 14 EEE. If you saw him without a shirt you would think that someone taught bigfoot how to talk and put clothes on him. So maybe bigfoot has infiltrated and walks among us.

Lets say they find a Bigfoot. They examine the creature and find out its a neanderthal...and is not a relative of humans.

Two good things would happen.

Man would not be seen as some evolutionary product.

The young earth theology would be destroyed.

Thats my take.

It would certainly be fun to discover another living humanoid life form, but I think the odds of that happening are vanishingly small, even in the few remaining remote areas of the planet.

Regarding Neanderthals, we have already sequenced enough of their genome to estimate that they share about 99.5% of the same DNA as modern humans. (Chimps share about 95% in common.)

There is a lot more interest in obtaining samples of life from extremely remote locations on Earth that may have existed in complete isolation for millions of years, but we're talking about bacteria and other microscopic life forms, not mammals.

There is nothing about my statement that points to a nationality. In fact he had absolutly NO Italian in him. I have had several of my Italian friends look at my post and NONE of them were offended by it. So if you take offense it is only yourself.
